JACKBEAR STAMPS, Rochester Creative Spotlight!
JackBear Stamp & Press makes hand carved rubber stamps! John βJackβ Ballou started participating in a hobby called letterboxing (www.atlasquest.com). He needed a rubber stamp. He wanted one of a bear paw. He combed all the craft stores in the area but to no avail. Jack decided to carve one himself and he fell in love with carving rubber stamps! He carves each stamp by hand and makes printed items from his stamps, like wooden magnets and buttons, cards, and collectable prints. Jack draws inspiration from pop culture, comic books, science fiction and fantasy, and local history.
