JackBear Stamp & Press makes hand carved rubber stamps! John “Jack” Ballou started participating in a hobby called letterboxing (www.atlasquest.com). He needed a rubber stamp. He wanted one of a bear paw. He combed all the craft stores in the area but to no avail. Jack decided to carve one himself and he fell in love with carving rubber stamps! He carves each stamp by hand and makes printed items from his stamps, like wooden magnets and buttons, cards, and collectable prints. Jack draws inspiration from pop culture, comic books, science fiction and fantasy, and local history.

Our alternative Makers Market provides an exciting shopping experience that welcomes patrons to support quality makers, artisans and small businesses. The diverse crew of vendors is hand-curated for each event, creating a memorable and celebrated experience!

The market is free and open to the public! This event will operate 11am -3pm in the Neighborhood of the Arts, Inside the courtyard of The Factory Building, which is home to amazing local businesses like Stacy K Floral, Gallery Salon, Winter Swan Coffee, Scratch Bakeshop, Nosh, Old Pueblo Grill, Petit Poutinerie, The Fleurish Candle Co. and more on the block around Russell and Elton Streets, Rochester NY 14607

We begin with ingredients we can trust. We use high quality, natural, soy wax which we melt down to begin our process. We then add our scents which were carefully selected to be phthalate-free and include essential oils. It’s now time for the beautiful jars to do their part! They are met with an all-natural cotton and paper blend wick and the melted combination of wax and fragrance. The cooling process takes the longest because we want it to cool at a slow rate to prevent imperfections. Once the candle is fully cooled, we add our labels, packaging, and send them out to our customers!

The heart that goes into each candle is what we believe makes us stand out from the crowd.

Winter Swan Coffee has expanded into a permanent location in the beautiful Neighborhood of the Arts! After a year filled with lots of fun and relentless dedication to perfecting our craft and creating a unique coffee experience

@mmmilyhandmade is a local Rochester, NY fiber artist & maker. Mmmily Handmade is a collection of hand crafted bags, accessories, cat toys, and home goods using a variety of unique, modern, and hand-printed fabrics. At her booth, you can find handmade face masks, zipper pouches, clutches, backpacks, fanny packs, tote bags, scrunchies, R-rated catnip toys, and more!
